Hydro One named the top-ranked Corporate Citizen in the utility sector by
Corporate Knights Magazine, and one of the top five Corporate Citizens in
Canada
TORONTO, June 23 /CNW/ - Hydro One announced today that it is has been named one of Canada's top five Corporate Citizens in Corporate Knights Magazine's annual ranking of the best 50 corporate citizens in the country. Corporate Knights Inc. is an independent Canadian-based media company that publishes the world's largest circulation magazine with an explicit focus on corporate responsibility.
Hydro One also ranked first in Canada for corporate citizenship among utilities. The annual Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada ranking survey follows a review of 118 significant Canadian companies across 10 core environment, social, governance indicators as well as a relative core business impact score. Indicators include diversity, environmental stewardship and governance indicators such as board independence, amongst others. Corporate Knights defines ranked companies as companies that fulfill their part of the social contract, while providing innovative solutions to pressing social and environmental challenges of our time.
