Hydro Ottawa once again outshines its own United Way fundraising goal, changing more than 1,000 lives Français
OTTAWA, Nov. 12, 2015 /CNW/ - Hydro Ottawa today announced that it outshined its fundraising goal, raising a record $281,485 for its 2015 United Way Ottawa workplace campaign.
The results were announced at Hydro Ottawa's Annual Employee Forum and Recognition Event where employees were honoured for workplace achievements and community involvement.
The funds were derived from employee donations and company fundraising events, including a golf tournament, online auction and the result of designated days whereby crews donated portions of their overtime pay. For every dollar raised by employees, Hydro Ottawa matched by allocating corporate donations to Hydro Ottawa's Brighter Tomorrows Fund - a community investment program designed to support frontline agencies that serve people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, to invest in energy-efficient technologies or products.
Quick Facts
