OTTAWA, May 15, 2015 /CNW/ - The Canadian Hydropower Association (CHA) is releasing an exciting compendium of stories today at its 2015 Forum on Hydropower. This document aims at capturing the positive relationships Aboriginal communities and the hydropower sector have built over time across the country.
The CHA collected stories showcasing the range of initiatives and partnerships that are underway with Aboriginal communities across Canada related to hydropower development. This compendium, Paths Forward, Hydropower and Aboriginal Relationships Across Canada, aims to demonstrate that Aboriginal communities and hydropower developers across Canada are increasingly engaged in progressive partnerships. While projects happen very much at a local level, improved hydropower and Aboriginal community relationships have become a Canadian story. This compendium showcases positive developments and will encourage the industry and Aboriginal communities to continue building on the progress they have made.
About the Canadian Hydropower Association
Founded in 1998, the CHA is the national association dedicated to representing the interests of the hydropower industry. Its principal mandate is to promote hydropower nationally and internationally as a source of renewable energy, to make the economic and environmental advantages of hydropower better known, and to publicize the benefits of hydropower in the search for sustainable energy solutions. CHA members represent more than 95% of the hydropower capacity in Canada.
