TORONTO, May 11, 2015 /CNW/ - arrive alive DRIVE SOBER® launched its 27th annual sober driving campaign at the Ornge Hangar at Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport, with new messages – including some specific to the summer season.
The 27th campaign features a new video Public Service Announcement (PSA) with an Ornge Critical Care Flight Paramedic who emphasizes that they don't want to pick you up this summer season. A new radio spot with Champion Curler Glenn Howard also talks to the summertime – and the importance of planning a safe ride home "before you crack open a cold one on the patio".
"With summer right around the corner and the first long weekend coming up, getting the message out is timely", said arrive alive DRIVE SOBER President Tom Burmaster. "We thank everyone for remembering what's at stake, and for planning a safe ride home: Choose Your Ride".
"Ornge is very excited to partner with arrive alive DRIVE SOBER on their annual sober driving campaign," says Dr. Andrew McCallum, President and CEO of Ornge. "There are still a number of crashes we respond to that are related to impaired driving. We want to emphasize the importance of sober driving and planning ahead."
Those in attendance at the launch previewed the new messages and saw demonstrations of the impacts of alcohol and drugs on an individual's system.
