IABC Ottawa wins big at the IABC Chapter Management Awards
OTTAWA, Feb. 19, 2019 /CNW/ - IABC Ottawa took home four Chapter Management Awards (CMAs) for event organization, strategic planning, membership marketing, and volunteer engagement and leadership development at an awards ceremony on Thursday February 7, 2019, held during IABC's Leadership Institute conference.
"IABC Ottawa prides itself on supporting and connecting everyone in the marketing, communications, and public relations communities in Ottawa," said Samantha Rae Ayoub, President of IABC Ottawa. "These awards are an acknowledgement of the great work of our members, volunteers, and supporters who have helped build IABC Ottawa into the vibrant, world-class organization it is today."
The IABC Chapter Management Awards are an annual awards program that recognizes the leadership, management, creativity, and teamwork of IABC chapter leaders around the world.
Submissions are assessed on how relevant, vital, and accessible each chapter's volunteer leadership is in providing value to members. Several members of IABC Ottawa's leadership team were on hand to receive the awards at a ceremony in Long Beach, California.
"IABC Ottawa streamlined event planning templates and tools, aligned Board members with the Chapter strategy, implemented new volunteer recognition programs, conducted a listening tour to support their strategy, and hosted six new member-only events to increase member value," said Ginger Homan, ABC, SCMP, Chair of the IABC International Executive Board during Thursday's awards ceremony. "I am very proud of this Chapter and all that they do."
IABC Ottawa took home awards in the following categories:
- Award of Merit, Chapter Events, for success in event strategy, management, and marketing.
- Award of Merit, Strategic Planning, for its ability to identify challenges and establish plans to tackle those challenges while planning for long-term success.
- Award of Excellence, Membership Marketing, for marketing methods, recruitment and retention of members, and special services.
- Award of Excellence, Volunteer Engagement & Leadership Development, for success in volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and engagement, as well as development of chapter leaders.
IABC Ottawa is a volunteer-run organization that provides professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities for marketers, communicators, and public relations professionals in the Nation's Capital.
