IBC brings Be Smart. Be Safe. to Kitchener Summer Lights Festival
TORONTO, June 16, 2016 /CNW/ - Does taking a quick look at your phone while driving count as distracted driving? How can you reduce the risk of water damage to your property in a flood?
Answer these and other road and home safety questions at Insurance Bureau of Canada's (IBC's) Be Smart. Be Safe. interactive display at the Kitchener Summer Lights Festival on Saturday, June 18, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The booth will feature fun, engaging games and challenges that increase your awareness of home and road safety, and improve your financial and insurance literacy. Try the:
- Fact or Fiction Game. Test your insurance knowledge by answering a series of home, auto and general insurance questions. Prizes will be awarded to all who participate.
- Safety Mobile. Experience four staged collision scenarios with this interactive driving simulator. You'll learn how to avoid, detect and report this form of insurance fraud. Also, take the "texting while driving challenge" to find out the dangers of distracted driving. The driving simulator has a standard-sized driver's seat, gas pedal, brake pedal, steering wheel and dashboard, as well as a plasma monitor.
- Dry House Challenge. Race against time to solve problems related to flood prevention. This game offers pointers on how to protect your home from water damage.
IBC representatives will be on hand to provide information about the changes to auto insurance that came into effect on June 1. These changes provide Ontario drivers with more affordable premiums and more choice in benefit levels.
This summer, IBC will be travelling with its interactive display to a variety of community events in Ontario. "IBC has a long history of working with communities to make them safer," said Steve Kee, Director, Media & Digital Communications, IBC. "The Be Smart. Be Safe. tour is a natural evolution of that tradition and a fun and memorable way to deliver important safety messages."
Look for IBC's interactive display at Downtown Kitchener's 5 Block Street Festival. Visit us from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be an assortment of giveaways. |
