HALIFAX, May 4, 2015 /CNW/ - As Emergency Preparedness Week begins in Atlantic Canada and across the country, Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) wants consumers to be aware and be prepared.
"Severe weather events that used to happen once every 40 years can now be expected to occur every six. That's why it is so important to be prepared for the worst," said Amanda Dean, Vice-President, Atlantic, IBC. "Thinking ahead about the potential worst-case scenario can prepare you to react quickly if something does happen. This can help to keep your possessions and most importantly, your loved ones safe."
