Don Forgeron, President and CEO of Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), which represents 90 per cent of Canada's property and casualty insurers, will discuss how changing weather patterns could impact businesses and homeowners and what Alberta businesses, governments, and consumers can do to develop, promote and implement adaptation measures.
The Alberta government was the first province to release a climate change action plan in 2002 and Calgary's climate change program is recognized as a leader in municipal climate change efforts in Canada. In his speech, Mr. Forgeron will put a challenge to Albertans to take a leadership role in initiating innovative adaptation strategies.
