Bigger Better Store to be Largest IKEA in North America
BURLINGTON, ON, Sept. 19, 2013 /CNW/ - IKEA has announced today, the highly anticipated completion of North America's largest IKEA store in Ville St. Laurent. Growing from 237,473 sq ft to 469,694 sq ft, the state-of-the-art IKEA Montreal will host a warehouse that is twice the size, doubling the amount of products available to take home at any time. The new store will also offer customers 1407 parking spots, 600 seats in the restaurant, 48 cash lanes, 54 inspirational room settings and 2 full home settings.
"We are thrilled to be able to reward both our customers and coworkers with a world-class store." says Alain Cloutier, IKEA Montreal Store Manager. "The new store will offer a superior shopping experience; more in-store services and the larger warehouse will ensure that even our kitchen customers can take home their purchases the same day."
In line with IKEA's vision to have a positive impact on people and the environment, the new construction will be 40 per cent more efficient than the last wave of stores built in the early 2000s. Moreover, in addition to jobs created during the construction phase, IKEA has recruited 50 additional co-workers to support providing customers with the best possible service in the new larger store.
