Kingston Collection Point makes shopping at IKEA easier and more affordable.
BURLINGTON, ON, April 18, 2018 /CNW/ - Shopping at IKEA just got more convenient today for customers in Kingston, Ont., with the launch of a new Collection Point location.
Customers can now shop online at www.IKEA.ca for IKEA home furnishings and have them delivered to the Kingston Collection Point for only $29, regardless of the size and value of their purchase. This means they will be able to ship as little as a single sofa or as much as an entire kitchen for $29 and represents savings over the $49 cost of home delivery. Customers who wish to take advantage of home delivery can still do so, with the delivery fees remaining the same.
IKEA's new Collection Point location can be found at 192 Hickson Ave., Kingston, K7K 2N9. The Collection Point is not an IKEA store and is owned by third party service provider Dicom. IKEA product is not available for purchase at the Collection Point.
"We are focused on creating an easy and affordable shopping experience, no matter how or when our customers choose to interact with IKEA," said IKEA Canada President Marsha Smith. "The new Collection Point makes bringing IKEA products home much more convenient to our customers in the Kingston market."
IKEA Canada is on a journey to become the leading multichannel home furnishings retailer, by delivering a seamless customer experience across all touchpoints, both physical and digital.
"In such a large country, it is important for IKEA to offer a variety of solutions to make shopping easier for Canadians," said Smith. "Launching a Collection Point in Kingston is a natural next step that makes the brand even more accessible for local residents."
IKEA Canada recently lowered the price of home delivery in the Ottawa market as part of a service pricing test. Customers within the region can now have their store or online purchases delivered to the room of their choice in their home or business for a flat rate beginning at $29. Parcel deliveries are now $7 and Click & Collect purchases are $5.
The retailer opened a new store in Halifax in fall 2017 and will welcome customers to IKEA Quebec City in summer 2018 and IKEA London, Ontario. IKEA Canada also operates six Pick-up and order point locations and 13 Collection Points in Canada in addition to the Kingston location. IKEA also plans to open new distribution centres in Richmond, BC and Beauharnois, QC.
