IKO Introduces New IKO AccuCutTM Service to Canadian Market
Now contractors can order IKO polyiso insulation sheathing (wall and roof board) pre-cut at the factory
BRAMPTON, ON, Aug. 28, 2015 /CNW/ - IKO - a global leader in the manufacture of asphalt roofing shingles and building envelope products – has announced a brand-new service available in Canada.
The IKO AccuCut service involves custom-cutting polyisocyanurate insulation sheathing (wall and roof board) to specified sizes, directly at the company's production plants.
According to Carol Perkins, IKO's Director of Marketing, the success that IKO has enjoyed for over half a century is largely due to innovative ideas from within the company as well as from the field.
The new IKO AccuCut service is no exception.
"Contractors are always looking for ways to complete their roofing and building envelope projects faster, more efficiently and more cost-effectively. For some time, they've been requesting this service and we're very pleased to offer it exclusively across Canada."
She explains that IKO AccuCut will give contractors a truly competitive edge in a highly competitive industry.
"IKO AccuCut is efficient, convenient and clean. Custom milling at the factory creates straight, clean edges that make installation faster and easier because the pre-cut products will butt smoothly against each other at the seams.
This will save contractors considerable time and labour on the jobsite because it eliminates measuring, cutting and perhaps even re-cutting. IKO AccuCut also helps minimize wasted material and promotes a cleaner jobsite.
The panels arrive in factory-bagged skids, clearly labeled with the specified dimensions so the right-sized panels can be quickly identified.
Quick and simple identification and no lost time in cutting to fit, means much greater efficiency. By finishing projects faster, crews can move on to the next job sooner. That means more business and more profit."
IKO AccuCut service is available for the following IKO products: IKO Ener-AirTM, IKO EnerFoilTM, IKOThermTM, IKOTherm IIITM and IKOTherm CoverShieldTM. IKO's standard 4 x 4 and 4 x 8 foot panels (4 x 9 foot panels – Eastern Canada only) can be cut into two widths of 24 inches wide each or three widths of 16 inches wide each. To accommodate metric sizing, widths of 400 mm and 600 mm are also available.
Thicknesses are not affected and range from IKO's wide selection of ½ to four inch boards, according to the product chosen.
IKO's production plants in Brampton, Ontario, and High River, Alberta, are ready to provide the IKO AccuCut service to markets in Eastern and Western Canada, respectively. Lead-time is 2-3 weeks, depending on the jobsite's geographic distance from the plant and demand.
Perkins says, "IKO AccuCut is another fine example of the innovative thinking that has helped IKO be a leader in the roofing products and building envelope industry for decades. This new service allows for a more concerted push into the building envelope industry."
When ordering, she advises, "Be sure to ask for IKO AccuCut and provide the appropriate dimensions, by product."
Contractors are encouraged to get further details or to order by contacting their local Authorized IKO Distributor.
