Important News for the Easter Bunny! 63% of Boys Want to Receive Mighty Beanz
Over Easter Eggs This Weekend
TORONTO and LOS ANGELES, April 1 /CNW/ - Parents take note! A survey of boys across Canada and the USA has found that 63% boys would rather receive Spin Master's popular collectable Mighty Beanz in their Easter baskets this year than Easter eggs.
The survey, completed on Wednesday, March 30th 2010, was conducted by IC Group, a leading international marketing firm. The survey asked a statistically significant random sample of boys across the U.S and Canada aged 4-11: 'If you could get one, but had to choose, which would you want to get the MOST this Easter? A) A Mighty Bean. B) An Easter Egg.' 63% said they would rather receive a Spin Master Mighty Bean this Easter than an Easter Egg.
"The results of this survey suggest that the popularity of Spin Master's Mighty Beanz is so significant it has surpassed the timeless childhood tradition of receiving Easter Eggs," said Terry Hedlund, VP, Research Division, IC Group. "These results are even more significant considering that Mighty Beanz just launched in January and that we are just two days away from Easter."
Mighty Beanz are small, easily hidden (for Easter hunting), whacky, plastic 'bean' shaped characters that kids collect, trade, and play with. Each bean belongs to a specific "Bean Team" and come in different rarity levels - common, rare and ultra rare - that signifies its collectable value. More than 100 new Beanz have launched this Spring 2010 and some 'ultra rare' Beanz are incredibly rare and difficult to find. Mighty Beanz offer great value for parents as well with a 3-pack retailing for just $2.99.
"Mighty Beanz appeal to any child who loves to build collections, trade with their friends, and play with whacky interesting toys - so almost any boy or girl aged five and up," said Mark Sullivan, Executive Vice President, Marketing, Spin Master. "Their popularity on the playground is incredible. Right now more than 67,000 Mighty Beanz are sold each day, and this number has increased steadily since they launched in January 2010. We're not saying that the Easter Bunny should retire, but as hot as Mighty Beans are, he may want to add a few more beans and a few less eggs to his basket this year."
