Important Safety Notice: Recall of Everyday Essentials™ Space Heater with Fan

BRAMPTON, ON, Feb. 24, 2015 /CNW/ - On behalf of the manufacturer, Loblaw Companies Limited is recalling Everyday Essentials™ Space Heater with Fan 750W/1500W (see attached photos) due to a potential fire hazard. The products were sold from January 1, 2011 to February 24, 2015 at the following stores:

Ontario: Extra Foods®, Fortinos®, Freshmart®, Loblaws®, No Frills®, Real Canadian Superstore®, Real Canadian Wholesale Club®, Valu-Mart®, Your Independent Grocer®, Zehrs® and affiliated independent stores

Atlantic: Real Canadian Wholesale Club®, Dominion®, Freshmart®, No Frills®, Save Easy® and Atlantic Superstore®

Québec: Club Entrepôt®, Loblaws®, Maxi®, Maxi & Cie®, Presto®, Provigo® and Provigo le Marché®

West: Extra Foods®, No Frills®, Real Canadian Superstore®, Real Canadian Wholesale Club®, Shop Easy®, SuperValu®, Your Independent Grocer® and affiliated independent stores

Loblaw is aware of two complaints of units overheating and smouldering or flaming but has received no injury reports. All units have been removed from store shelves across the country.

Customers can return the product to the place of purchase and the customer service desk will provide a full refund, with or without a receipt.
