Independent Police Oversight Reviewer Announces Public Consultations
TORONTO, Sept. 12, 2016 /CNW/ - Justice Michael H. Tulloch, who was appointed by the Ontario government on April 29, 2016 to independently review police oversight bodies, has announced that he will hold a series of public meetings across the province to seek input into his recommendations.
Justice Tulloch is reviewing the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), the Office of the Independent Police Review Director (OIPRD) and the Ontario Civilian Police Commission (OCPC).
Since his appointment, he has been holding consultations with various stakeholders and now will hold a series of 17 public meetings in addition to focused stakeholder meetings.
The first three public consultations will be held in Toronto. Subsequent consultations will be held across the province including the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Sault St. Marie, Kingston, Hamilton, London and Windsor.
The public consultations have been scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the following dates and at the following locations:

The meetings are open to the public and to media.
Justice Tulloch is to deliver his Report by March 31, 2017.
