Indigo launches KOBO(TM) eReader in black
TORONTO, May 7 /CNW/ - Indigo Books & Music have today launched their popular new dedicated KOBO eReader in black at Indigo, Chapters and select Coles stores nationally. The device is also available online at www.chapters.indigo.ca. The original porcelain coloured device has been available for a week in stores. Both colours are proving very popular with Canadian consumers with first week sales of the device exceeding expectations.
Priced at just $149, the stylized, affordable, eInk based reader provides significant value and functionality for the booklover. The sleek device comes pre-loaded with 100 classic books so Indigo customers can start reading right out of the box, or they may choose to easily access the catalog of over 2 million eBooks, including today's bestsellers, newspapers and magazines through USB or wirelessly through Bluetooth.
The Kobo eReader is just 120mm x 184mm x 10mm thick and weighs only 221 grams, just slightly more than an average book. With its efficient battery, the Kobo eReader will last up to two weeks on one charge, or up to eight thousand page turns.
"Simple in purpose and use, the $149 Indigo-backed eReader will appeal to those who just want to read."
- Globe and Mail
"Looking at the Kobo as an inexpensive eReader option, it shines above the rest...the Kobo should earn praise for being simple to use and read, and offering many e-book formats for seamless download."

"I like the device, but I like the company even more. Kobo offers a safe, simple, and cheap way for users to see if eReading is right for them."
