Industrial Alliance employees donate more than one million dollars to United Way across Canada Français
QUEBEC CITY, Dec. 11, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. is pleased to announce that the total contributions from its employees and the company to United Way in 2013 exceeded the million dollar mark for the first time to reach $1,095,597.
"We are very pleased with this fantastic result which is a testament to our employees' great generosity and their unwavering commitment to United Way across Canada. Industrial Alliance employees showed a lot of determination and creativity to reach this record contribution amount, which is very much to their credit," enthusiastically stated Yvon Charest, Industrial Alliance President and Chief Executive Officer.
In addition to making personal contributions in the context of the official 2013 United Way fundraising campaign, Industrial Alliance employees from coast to coast invested time and energy in various fundraising activities throughout the year.
In Quebec City, where the company's head office is located, employees organized sales of prepared food dishes, Halloween and Easter chocolates and Mother's Day flowers. In Montreal, employees participated in the United Way special of the popular game show La Guerre des clans, took part in the Centraide Cup 2013 soccer tournament at Stade Saputo and organized flower and handbag sales.
In Toronto, Industrial Alliance employees climbed the CN Tower, took part in a ping pong tournament and organized a pumpkin-decorating and a cupcake contest. For their part, Vancouver employees held a silent auction, a 50/50 draw and a karaoke contest among other activities.
