Industrial Alliance receives a Celent Model Insurer Award for its Mobiliz program, a car insurance program designed to improve young drivers' behaviour Français
QUEBEC, Feb. 28, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - On February 27, 2013 in Boston, Industrial Alliance Auto and Home Insurance was proud to be the recipient of a Celent Model Insurer Award for its Mobiliz program, a community initiative aimed at improving driving behaviours and countering the wave of speeding motorists between the ages of 16 to 24 years old.
The Celent Model Insurer Award recognizes the insurers using top technology initiatives to offer state-of-the-art products to consumers. Past winners of this international prize since 2007 include Allstate Financial, Chubb, Nationwide Insurance and Allianz Life, to name a few. As a matter of fact, Industrial Alliance Auto and Home Insurance is the first Quebec insurer to receive this prestigious award. The winners of such an award are, in Celent's opinion, key-companies that have inspired other insurers to improve their performance and better understand the needs of the market.
What especially caught the Celent jury's attention with Mobiliz was the pairing of insurance risk management with telematics, from an altruistic perspective. We must emphasize that Mobiliz is a revolutionary auto insurance program based on the Pay how you drive concept, i.e. the premium is mostly based on the driver's behaviour rather than his specific age group or claim history. Young drivers demonstrating responsible driving behaviours can therefore benefit from rebates on their car insurance premiums.
Finally, it is important to mention that this technology initiative was developed in partnership with Baseline Telematics Inc., another Quebec corporation. Baseline Telematics was founded 17 years ago and offers leading edge technological solutions to the insurance industry. Its main focus is risk mitigation and product differentiation. Baseline Telematics' mission is to offer insurers a complete and integrated range of state-of-the-art solutions for risk mitigation, enabling them to act more effectively within their field of activity.
