OTTAWA, Oct. 31, 2012 /CNW/ - SecureTech 2012, presented by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), wraps up a two-day international conference and tradeshow in Ottawa attended by 1,500 delegates. In its second year, SecureTech attracted industry leaders, public policy makers, and end-users of national security and public safety products and services who met to discuss the today's critical issues of cyber and perimeter security in both plenary and break-out panel sessions. The event also featured a 100 booth trade show that exposed the public safety and security community to industrial capabilities designed to respond to the operational challenges faced by front line responders to manmade and natural threats to public safety and national security.
A First Responders Stage, organized in collaboration with the Canadian Interoperability Technology Interest Group (CITIG), provided an added benefit to those attending this year's SecureTech as representatives from the municipal first responder community presented to industry attendees their operational challenges. It was a welcome addition to all those looking to build relationships between first responders and industrial suppliers of goods, technologies and services.
SecureTech 2012 also introduced an Innovation Stage enabling a number of companies to promote their capabilities to a targeted customer audience. We expect this aspect of the show will grow in the years to come.
The two-day SecureTech conference stream included excellent presentations from some of the best and brightest minds in the cyber and perimeter security environments. Delegates not only enjoyed the presentations but engaged in a lively discussion with speakers during the sessions and in the many networking events that have been part of this year's program.
SecureTech attendees benefited from keynote speeches from:
