Industry invites consumers to help fix the Ontario auto insurance system
Interactive display at Vaughan Mills Mall, north of Toronto, invites the public to have its say
TORONTO, March 20, 2013 /CNW/ - Auto insurance is a hot topic of conversation these days in Toronto and the surrounding area. Whether it's about the cost of car insurance or how the current system doesn't work -- it's Time to Talk.
With its Time to Talk Tour, Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) invites consumers to have their say about the problems facing Ontario's auto insurance system while getting their questions answered by insurance experts.
Feedback from drivers on how to take costs out of the system and reduce auto insurance premiums in Ontario is welcome and will be delivered to MPPs from all political parties to help develop concrete solutions that get real results.
"Consumers deserve a competitive auto insurance system that delivers affordable premiums for all drivers and fair benefits for injured collision victims," said Ralph Palumbo, Vice-President, Ontario, IBC. "Let's talk about solutions to address the costs that drive auto insurance premiums. We all have a role to play - government, industry and consumers - to help fix this problem once and for all."
IBC representatives are hitting the road this month with a mall tour that kicks off at Vaughan Mills from March 22 to 24. . The Time to Talk Tour includes:
- An eye-catching 'Fender Bender' exhibit, designed to demonstrate how a small collision can escalate into a large claim.
- Experts to answer insurance questions.
- A "Video Driver's Seat" that allows visitors to have their say and tell their auto insurance story. Selected videos will be posted on IBC's interactive forum timetotalk.ibc.ca.
- "The Scruples Challenge," an interactive video game that features five scenarios to test participants' risk tolerance to fraud. The scenarios include: 'A bank teller blooper', 'An unexpected ATM windfall', 'Fender-bending the truth', 'Video vampires', and 'Rub my back, I'll rub yours'.
IBC representatives will be on-site to provide information, answer any questions, and get local community feedback.
The TIME TO TALK display will be visiting: Vaughan Mills (1 Bass Pro Mills Drive, Vaughan) West end in front of Bass Pro Shop on Friday, March 22 (10am-9pm), Saturday, March 23 (10am-9pm) and Sunday, March 24 (11am-7pm). |
