Industry leader David Linsmayer joins Avison Young in San Francisco

Office leasing specialist joins as Principal

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Feb. 8, 2013 /CNW/ - Nick Slonek, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's San Francisco office, announced today that veteran commercial real estate broker David Linsmayer has joined Avison Young's brokerage operations in San Francisco.

Effective immediately, Linsmayer joins Avison Young as a Principal. He will focus on brokerage services, including the representation of corporate tenants, investors and landlords, as well as capital markets and advisory services transactions in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout the expanding Avison Young platform.

Linsmayer brings 22 years of real estate industry experience to Avison Young in the areas of office, industrial and retail leasing, commercial property valuation and appraisal. He has represented a wide variety of clients in the fields of finance, insurance, technology, professional services, biotech, law, education, environmental, and non-profit. During the last 15 years, Linsmayer has negotiated 2,000-plus leases on behalf of his clients representing more than 6.5 million square feet throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and United States. Linsmayer's clients include Pfizer, CNN, Time Warner, the University of Pennsylvania-Wharton, Medivation, The Carlyle Group, Charles Schwab & Company, Celgene, Environmental Defense Fund, Cantor Fitzgerald, ZoomSystems, Almac Clinical, and JP Morgan.

From 2008 to 2013, Linsmayer was as a Senior Vice-President with Jones Lang LaSalle in San Francisco. Before then, he served as a Vice-President and original member of the San Francisco office of The Staubach Company (1999 to 2008). During his tenure at Staubach and JLL, Linsmayer was a nine-time "Top Achiever", and CoStar Power Broker in 2009 and 2011.

In addition, he has completed a number of real estate-related courses in the areas of leasing, finance, mortgage lending, property valuation, and property management as part of his professional training.
