Infertility Awareness Association of Canada to sponsor Canadian Infertility Awareness Week and launch new logo and web site

MONTREAL, May 16, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Infertility Awareness Association of Canada (IAAC) will be sponsoring the 2013 Canadian Infertility Awareness Week (CIAW), to take place from May 19th through the 26^th. This year's CIAW will focus on raising awareness about infertility and promoting fertility education in particular amongst young adults.

While sexual education courses fully cover contraception and sexually transmitted Infections (STI's), fertility is rarely mentioned. Studies have shown that young adults often lack pertinent knowledge about fertility. For example, many are unaware that some untreated STI's can affect their future fertility, that female fertility peaks at age 28, or that exposure to heat can damage male fertility.

• Conferences in Vancouver, Edmonton, Mississauga, Montreal and Fredericton featuring specialists in reproductive health.
• <Yoga on the Hill> in Ottawa and a live webinar on the benefits of fertility yoga (Wednesday May 22^nd) which will be available on our website during the month of June.
• CIAW Challenge, where Canadians are invited to take specific actions during the week to raise awareness about infertility
• The 'Love Letters' campaign, an opportunity for Canadians to send a letter of support to a person who is suffering from infertility.

During CIAW, IAAC will also launch its new logo and website.
