MONTREAL, May 16, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Infertility Awareness Association of Canada (IAAC) will be sponsoring the 2013 Canadian Infertility Awareness Week (CIAW), to take place from May 19th through the 26th. This year's CIAW will focus on raising awareness about infertility and promoting fertility education in particular amongst young adults.
While sexual education courses fully cover contraception and sexually transmitted Infections (STI's), fertility is rarely mentioned. Studies have shown that young adults often lack pertinent knowledge about fertility. For example, many are unaware that some untreated STI's can affect their future fertility, that female fertility peaks at age 28, or that exposure to heat can damage male fertility.
For a complete list of events happening during the week, visit the IAAC website (www.iaac.ca). Highlights include:
During CIAW, IAAC will also launch its new logo and website.
