Info-Tech Research Group has been recognized as one of the Best Workplaces in
Canada
LONDON, ON, April 14 /CNW/ - Info-Tech Research Group has been recognized for the third year as one of the Best Workplaces in Canada. This list, and related stories, appeared in a special national report on Tuesday April 13th, 2010 in The Globe and Mail.
"Info-Tech has always valued our employees first and foremost," said Joel McLean, President and CEO for Info-Tech Research Group. "We make sure to celebrate individual successes as well as company successes together as a team. The employee programs we have put in place foster a family atmosphere and are a natural extension of the respect we have for our employees not only as workers, but people too."
Programs such as a Veteran's Club for employees with five year's service, an annual case competition which gives employees a chance to contribute their ideas for the future of the company, and a peer recognition program called the "X-Factor", helped push the IT research firm into the top this year.
"We are proud to be recognized as one of the best places to work in Canada again this year. It is an accomplishment that we take seriously and we work hard to improve upon every year," said McLean. "We understand that the success of our organization is directly linked to the success and happiness of our employees."
This list of "Best Workplaces in Canada" is compiled by Great Place to Work(R) Institute Canada. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 57-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization's culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work(R): credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.
This year's list received over 200 nominations and approximately 41,000 employees participated in the 2010 "Best Workplaces in Canada" survey.
