Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario to Visit Barrie
TORONTO, Nov. 21, 2018 /CNW/ - Ontario's Information and Privacy Commissioner, Brian Beamish, will host a special event in Barrie on November 23, 2018, as part of the IPC's Reaching Out to Ontario program (ROTO). Under ROTO, IPC experts visit communities across the province to discuss access and privacy issues facing Ontario's public and health sectors.
The first session will feature a discussion on key issues including the privacy impact of smart city technologies, surveillance, the IPC's expansion of regulatory oversight to child and youth service providers, and recent IPC decisions.
The second session will examine mandatory breach reporting in the health sector, best practices to prevent privacy breaches and and health data integration.
The event is free of charge and everyone is welcome to attend.
