OTTAWA, Nov. 7, 2012 /CNW/ - Avmor Ltd. has expanded its recall of products to include four additional lots of the product X3 Clean Alcohol-Free Foaming Hand Sanitizer (Benzalkonium chloride 0.13%). The X3 product was originally recalled last month as a precautionary measure following the recall of another Avmor product, Antimicrobial Foaming Hand Soap (Triclosan 0.3%), because of microbial contamination.
Health Canada will to update its list of recalled products if additional lots or products are recalled.
Canadians should consult with their health care practitioner if they have bought or used X3 Clean Alcohol-Free Foaming Hand Sanitizer (Benzalkonium chloride 0.13%) or Antimicrobial Foaming Hand Soap (Triclosan 0.3%), especially those with compromised immune systems, including those with cystic fibrosis, HIV/AIDS, cancer, burns, diabetes and severe lung disease.
Health Canada is monitoring the additional recalls and the company's investigation of the root cause.
No adverse reactions involving the use of this product have been reported to Health Canada or the company to date.
