LONDON, Nov. 19, 2012 /CNW/ - Inniskillin Niagara Estate Winery was proud to collect the prestigious Top Canadian Producer of the Year award at the 43rd annual International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC). Winemaker Bruce Nicholson was on hand to receive the award from IWSC President, Mauricio Gonzalez Gordon, amidst the grand setting of the historic Guildhall in London, England.
"Capturing the Top Canadian Producer at the IWSC is a very significant win as our Canadian wine industry continues to grow," said Inniskillin winemaker Bruce Nicholson, who previously won the Canadian Producer of the Year Award four times as winemaker for Jackson-Triggs Okanagan Estate Winery. "This is truly an impactful and emotional tribute to all our collective efforts in winemaking and viticulture; it keeps Inniskillin's highly respected reputation and continued commitment to producing quality wines of excellence in the forefront."
Winning this award makes Nicholson the only Canadian winemaker to win from two different Canadian viticulture regions and two different Canadian wineries.
"Inniskillin is proud to receive this prestigious award and very proud of Bruce's accomplishments," said Franco Timpano, Marketing Director, Inniskillin. "As Canada's Original Estate winery, we have continued to hone our craft through a dedicated and progressive approach to winemaking. This award not only shows well for our winery, but for Canadian wines as a whole on the global stage."
