QUEBEC CITY, April 11, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Innovente inc. (TSX VENTURE:IGE) ("Innoventé" or the "Company") is proud to announce the recent granting of a US patent for its proprietary SHOC™ drying process.
This patent, valid until 2028, covers the entire process that enables Innoventé to transform organic waste into a solid biocombustible with high calorific value. The patent is assigned to the "Institut de Recherche et de Développement en Agroenvironnement" ("IRDA"), Innoventé's technological partner.
In accordance with a license agreement signed in 2008, the IRDA has granted Innoventé an exclusive worldwide license giving the Company the exclusive right to use the patents, trademarks as well as all the technical information and data developed by the IRDA with regard to the design and manufacture of the SHOC™ process. The mechanisms outlined in the agreement are designed in such a manner that Innoventé can hold these rights indefinitely, at its own discretion.
"This US patent, coupled to the Canadian patent obtained in July 2011, gives Innoventé a strong protection of its intellectual property in North America." declared Mr. Richard Painchaud, President and Chief Executive Officer of Innoventé.
In addition, a new provisional patent application has been filed recently at the international level. This application covers certain equipments used in the SHOC™ process. It will allow Innoventé to strengthen its intellectual property worldwide.
