The prize will be officially presented on October 29, 2015, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, on the occasion of the Excellence Summit & Canada Awards for Excellence.

Presented by the Governor General of Canada, the Canada Awards for Excellence (CAE) honor the country's best-managed organizations with the nation's highest distinction for quality and quality improvement. The awards, based on rigorous criteria such as cost reduction and efficiency and productivity improvements, celebrate the efforts and performance of winning organizations, acknowledging them as stars of the Canadian economy and world leaders in their fields.

The Canada Award of Excellence comes on top of the Grand Prix québécois de la qualité, awarded to INO in November 2014 by Mouvement québécois de la qualité. INO also received the 2014 Celestica Award for Technology Commercialization from the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATA).
