Inquest into the death of David Troy Stevens announced

TORONTO, June 30 /CNW/ - Dr. Bonita Porter, Deputy Chief Coroner for Inquests, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of David Troy Stevens.
Mr. Stevens, 27, died on June 8, 2008, while in custody of the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Steven's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at the Lindsay courthouse, 440 Kent Street West. Dr. Peter Clark, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Peterborough Office, will preside as inquest coroner and Ms. Rebecca Edward will be counsel to the coroner.
