Inquest into the death of Jacobus Coens announced

HAMILTON, ON, March 8 /CNW/ - Dr. Jack Stanborough, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, Hamilton Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Jacobus Coens.
Mr. Coens, 35, died on July 13, 2006, from injuries received during the course of his employment at a construction site in Niagara Falls. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Coens' death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last two days and will hear from approximately eight witnesses.
The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 2010, at the Welland courthouse, Courtroom 1, 102 East Main Street. Dr. Colin Zides will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. Timothy Hill will be counsel to the coroner.
