Inquest into the death of James Peter Major announced

KINGSTON, ON, May 21 /CNW/ - Dr. Roger Skinner, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Kingston Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of James Peter Major.
Mr. Major, 30, died on June 17, 2008, from injuries received during the course of his employment at a road construction site in Ottawa. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Major's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last three days.
The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 21, 2010, at 160 Elgin Street, 11th Floor, Hearing Room 2, Ottawa. Dr. Gordon Watt will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. Kevin Phillips will be counsel to the coroner.
