INQUEST INTO THE DEATH OF JOHN FRANCISCOS DEVOS ANNOUNCED

TORONTO, Oct 4 /CNW/ - Dr. Dirk Huyer, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Guelph Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of John Franciscos DeVos.
Mr. DeVos, 64 years old, died on July 5, 2009, while in custody at the Maplehurst Correctional Complex in Milton. An inquest was mandatory under the Coroners Act at the time of his death.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. DeVos' death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last two days and to hear from approximately five witnesses.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2010, at the Redbourne Building, 5500 North Service Road, Burlington. Dr. James Kovacs will preside as inquest coroner and Ms. Agata Tasson will be counsel to the coroner.
