Inquest into the death of Johnathon David Weeks announced

TORONTO, May 7 /CNW/ - Dr. Bonita Porter, Deputy Chief Coroner for Inquests, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Johnathon David Weeks.
Mr. Weeks, 31, died on March 31, 2008, at the Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare - South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site in Bracebridge, following a transfer from the Durham Regional Police holding cell. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Week's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last eight days and will hear from approximately 12 witnesses
The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010, at the Aurora Town Hall, 1 Municipal Drive. Dr. William J. Lucas, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Brampton Office, will preside as inquest coroner and Ms. Gemma Sang will be counsel to the coroner.
