Dr. Roger Skinner
, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Kingston Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Kurth Hansen.
Mr. Hansen
, 75, died on
July 8, 2006
, from injuries received during the course of his employment at a construction site in Kingston. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding
Mr. Hansen
's death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last two days.
The inquest will begin at
9:30 a.m.
on
Monday, February 22, 2010
, at the
Portsmouth
Olympic Harbour Complex, 53 Yonge Street, Kingston. Dr. Louise McNaughton-Filion will preside as inquest coroner and
Ms. Jennifer Ferguson
will be counsel to the coroner.
