Inquest into the death of Léo Lafond announced

THUNDER BAY, ON, Feb. 26 /CNW/ - Dr. David H. Evans, Acting Regional Supervising Coroner for North Region, Thunder Bay Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Leo Lafond.
Mr. Lafond, 58, died on September 11, 2007, from injuries received during the course of his employment with the International Nickel Company in Copper Cliff. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Lafond's death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010, at the Sudbury courthouse, 155 Elm Street. Dr. Raymond Sawkiw will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. Guy Roy will be counsel to the coroner.
