Inquest into the death of Orlando Rotolo announced

HAMILTON, ON, Feb. 26 /CNW/ - Dr. Jack Stanborough, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, Hamilton Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Orlando Rotolo.
Mr. Rotolo, 29, died on July 25, 2007, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls, while in the custody of the Niagara Regional Police Service. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Rotolo's death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last one to two weeks and will hear from approximately 20 witnesses.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 2010, at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse, 59 Church Street, 4th Level, St. Catharines. Dr. David Eden will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. Michael Blain will be counsel to the coroner.
