Inquest into the death of Orlando Rotolo announced

HAMILTON, ON, Aug. 16 /CNW/ - Dr. Jack Stanborough, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, Hamilton Office, today announced that the inquest into the death of Orlando Rotolo, which was held over April 28, 2010, will reconvene.
Mr. Rotolo, age 29, died on July 25, 2007, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls while in the custody of the Niagara Regional Police Service. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Rotolo's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last two weeks and to hear from approximately 10 witnesses.
The inquest will reconvene at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse, 59 Church Street, St. Catharines. Dr. David Eden will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. Michael Blain will be counsel to the coroner.
