Inquest into the death of Robert Capalbo announced

KINGSTON, ON, Oct. 9 /CNW/ - Dr. Roger Skinner , Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Kingston Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Robert Capalbo .

Mr. Capalbo , 66, died on June 22, 2008 , at the Kingston General Hospital following a transfer from the Kingston Penitentiary. The circumstances of his death require that an inquest be held.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Capalbo 's death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last one day.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 , at the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour Complex, 53 Yonge Street, Kingston. Dr. Ross McIlquham will be presiding coroner and Mr. Ross Drummond will be counsel to the coroner.
