Dr. James Edwards
, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region,
Toronto
East Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of
Ryan Coulter
.
Mr. Coulter
, 42, died
October 23, 2007
, while in custody at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in
Toronto
. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding
Mr. Coulter
's death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last approximately four days.
The inquest will begin at
9:30 a.m.
on
Tuesday, December 1, 2009
, at the
Toronto
Coroners Courts, 15 Grosvenor Street.
Dr. John Carlisle
will preside as inquest coroner and
Ms. Lorraine Cavion
will be counsel to the coroner.
