, Deputy Chief Coroner for Investigations, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Scott Dufty.
Mr. Dufty
, 35, died on
March 24, 2000
, following a transfer to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in
Toronto
.
Mr. Dufty
was an inmate at the Millbrook Correctional Centre. The circumstances of his death require that an inquest be held.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding
Mr. Dufty
's death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest will begin at
9 a.m.
on
Monday, December 7, 2009
, in Courtroom 2 at the Peterborough County courthouse, 470 Water Street North.
Dr. Peter A. Clark
will preside as inquest coroner and
Mr. Jim Hughes
will be counsel to the coroner.
