Inquest into the death of Stephen Markocki announced

HAMILTON, ON, April 19 /CNW/ - Dr. Jack Stanborough, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, Hamilton Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Stephen Markocki.
Mr. Markocki, 48, died on May 29, 2008, from injuries received during the course of his employment at a construction site in Hamilton. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Markocki's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last two days and will hear from approximately seven witnesses.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at the John Sopinka Courthouse, Courtroom 704, 45 Main Street East, Hamilton. Dr. David Eden will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. Kevin McKenna will be counsel to the coroner.
