Inquest into the death of Wayne Howard announced

GUELPH, ON, March 12 /CNW/ - Dr. Dirk Huyer, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Guelph Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Wayne Howard.
Mr. Howard, 22, died on April 9, 2008, at the Huronia District Hospital in Midland, following a transfer from the Central North Correctional Centre in Penetanguishene. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Howard's death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last five days and will hear from approximately 10 witnesses.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010, at the Best Western Highland Inn and Conference Centre, 924 King Street, Midland. Dr. Maarthen Reinders will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. Kevin Sisk will be counsel to the coroner.
