INQUEST INTO THE DEATH OF WILLIAM THOMAS HART ANNOUNCED

GUELPH, ON, Aug. 24 /CNW/ - Dr. Dirk Huyer, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Guelph Office, announced that an inquest will be held into the death of William Thomas Hart.
Mr. Hart, age 48, died on July 4, 2009, at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital while in the custody of the Ontario Provincial Police. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Hart's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last approximately 13 days and to hear from approximately 17 witnesses.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on September 20, 2010, at the Administration Building, County of Simcoe, 1110 Highway 26, Midhurst. Dr. Gail Churchill will preside as inquest coroner and Ms. Rebecca Edward will be counsel to the coroner.
