INQUEST INTO THE DEATHS OF VU PHAM AND FRED PRESTON ANNOUNCED

TORONTO, Aug. 26 /CNW/ - Dr. Andrew McCallum, Chief Coroner for Ontario, today announced that an inquest will be held into the deaths of Constable Vu Pham and Mr. Fred Preston.
Constable Pham of the Ontario Provincial Police died on March 8, 2010, following an incident involving Mr. Preston, who subsequently died on March 11, 2010, from injuries he sustained during the same event.
Section 25(2) of the Coroners Act permits the Chief Coroner to direct one inquest into both deaths.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding these deaths and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
Details about the date, location and presiding coroner will be announced when available.
