TORONTO, Aug. 20, 2014 /CNW/ - INSPIRE! Toronto International Book Fair is a celebration of reading and writing poised to engage 50,000 fairgoers with 300 hours of programming featuring more than 400 Canadian and international authors in eight feature areas over three and a half days. The Fair is an inclusive, poly-cultural event that inspires a love of books in all forms and embraces all facets of the writing and publishing sector.
Book lovers will come face-to-face with their favourite best-selling, award-winning writers at the INSPIRE! Main Stage with dynamic presentations from Margaret Atwood, Sylvia Day, Jim Gaffigan, Lisa Genova, William Gibson, Lev Grossman, Jeff Kinney, Jon Klassen, Dav Pilkey, Kathy Reichs, Anne Rice, Meg Wolitzer, and many more.
The Discovery Stage, presented by the Government of Ontario, will showcase all genres of books, with a special focus on Ontario and Canadian independent publishers and their authors. Featured presenters include Jeanne Beker, Marie Laberge, Judith Miller, Molly Peacock and Allan Stratton, with presentations by the Toronto Romance Writers, Toronto Public Library's The eh List Author Series and City of Toronto Book Awards.
The diversity and creativity of indigenous writers, storytellers and performers from across Canada is the focal point at the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Literary Circle, which will feature Joanne Arnott, Michael Kusugak, Edmund Metatawabin, Waubgeshig Rice, Paul Seesequasis, and more.
At the Piller's Culinary Zone, a lineup of chefs and food writers, including Elizabeth Baird, Matt Dean Pettit, Rose Reisman, Tosca Reno and David Sax, will present recipe demonstrations, taste testing and a feast of cookbooks.
From romance and crime to biography and fantasy, the year's most talked about books are in the spotlight on the Spark Stage with presentations from the Science Fiction Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and the Humber School for Writers. The stage will celebrate authors such as Ismael Cala, Theo Fleury, Elaine Lui, and Alison Pick.
The TD Children's Stage will bring reading to life with interactive programming featuring children's favourites Geneviève Côté, Gordon Korman, Barbara Reid, Ashley Spires, Kevin Sylvester and Eric Walters, and special presentations from the Canadian Children's Book Centre. There will be something for all family members throughout the weekend, with a focus on children's programming on Friday, November 14.
From the Four Corners, presented by the Ontario Media Development Corporation, is a dedicated space for programming that celebrates international literature accompanied by literature that reflects the linguistic and cultural diversity of Canada with a unique focus on South Asia, Europe and Pan America.
The Hub Soapbox Stage will showcase alternative publishing mediums from publishers and authors on the frontier of the publishing world and will invite conversation between exhibitors and Fair goers.
A diverse range of workshops and seminars are designed for trade-insiders, librarians, aspiring writers and children with offerings such as "How to Secure an Agent," "Hip Hop in the Classroom" and everything in between. INSPIRE! is also pleased to provide a unique space for industry insiders to connect and discuss translation rights and trade networking.
The INSPIRE! Marketplace is a dynamic shopping area that will feature more than two hundred exhibitors where visitors can discover their next great read and check off their holiday shopping list all in one place! A full list of exhibitors will be announced after close of registration deadline on October 1.
Visitors to INSPIRE! can explore many featured areas on the Fair floor. The Discovery Pavilion, located next to the Discovery Stage, will celebrate Ontario and Canadian independent publishers. The International Pavilion will host exhibitors representing India, Portugal, France and more. At the CANSCAIP Illustration Gallery art from Canadian children's book illustrators will be on display. Fair goers can relax and enjoy great food at the Next Issue Café.
The Fair launches on Thursday, November 13th, 2014 with the INSPIRE! Lift-off Party, a celebration and exclusive preview of the Fair. With hors d'oeuvres, celebratory drinks and live entertainment, it will be an inspiring kick off to the Fair weekend.

Ticket Information
INSPIRE! Toronto International Book Fair tickets are $15 per person, with re-entry on all three days included in the price of admission. The fair will run from 10 am to 8 pm on November 14th and 15th and from 10 am to 6 pm on November 16th. Tickets are available online at torontobookfair.ca/tickets.
