Insurers welcome the awarding of Fort McMurray wildfire debris removal contract to a local firm

EDMONTON, July 15, 2016 /CNW/ - Following a well-run competitive bidding process, Fort McMurray #468 First Nation has been selected by Specialized Property Evaluation Control Services Ltd. (SPECS) to carry out the coordinated demolition and debris removal initiative following the Fort McMurray wildfire.

"This is an important component of the recovery and rebuilding process, and insurers look forward to working with residents, the selected general contractor, Fort McMurray First Nation, and other contractors, which homeowners may choose in facilitating the timely and cost effective removal of debris," said Bill Adams, Vice-President, Western and Pacific, IBC.  "As the trade association representing insurers, IBC also looks forward to continuing to work with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and local stakeholders throughout the recovery and rebuilding process."
