TORONTO, July 5, 2018 /CNW/ - Intact Financial Corporation (TSX: IFC) today announced estimated catastrophe losses for the second quarter of 2018 of approximately $142 million on a pre-tax basis ($0.75 per share after-tax). Losses reflect the impact of three storms in central Canada in April and early May involving ice, rain and wind. Two-thirds of the losses were concentrated in personal property with most of the remainder in commercial lines.
