TORONTO, Aug. 6, 2015 /CNW/ - The Ontario Hospital Association (OHA), in partnership with the Intelligent Health Association (IHA), is excited to introduce the first-ever Intelligent Hospital Pavilion (IHP) at HealthAchieve in Toronto this November 2 and 3. This technology-equipped destination pavilion will feature two demonstration rooms that will showcase the latest wireless technologies being utilized in today's hospitals.
"New, mobile technologies are becoming more and more ubiquitous in todays' digital hospitals," said Harry P. Pappas, Founder and CEO of IHP. "The pavilion will feature a number of examples utilizing emerging technologies that are causing a paradigm shift on the delivery of health care."
The IHP will provide health care professionals with a high-level snapshot of how a number of technologies, when integrated together in real-time, can result in improved patient care and patient safety, while helping the hospital produce better operating efficiencies.
"Historically, Ontario's hospitals have always tried to remain at the forefront of new developments, whether in research, thought leadership or medical advancements – today's emerging technologies are no different," said Anthony Dale, President and CEO, OHA. "Hospitals and their health system partners will benefit from on-site demonstrations of how existing technologies can be integrated into practice so that patient care can be improved even more."
Visitors will get a first-hand experience of how technologies are able to deliver real-time data from the patient's room to clinicians' mobile devices, providing caregivers with an opportunity to explore how these new technologies can be applied within their own health care setting.
"HealthAchieve is the event for inspiration and innovation in health care and we are looking forward to showcasing this innovative new pavilion to the Canadian health care market," said Warren DiClemente, Vice President, Education and Chief Operating Officer, OHA. "The pavilion will provide attendees with a unique look at how technology can be used to prevent errors and improve safety for patients."
HealthAchieve has been the signature conference and exhibition of the OHA for more than 90 years, and is one of the largest and most respected health care events in North America. This year's event takes place in Toronto from November 2-4. For more information, visit www.healthachieve.com.
