VICTORIA, BC, Nov. 27, 2013 /CNW/ - Just in time for Cyber Monday and the busy holiday shopping season, Duty-Back www.duty-back.com the online service for cross-border refunds, has launched a customized platform for business.
"Duty-Back for business helps with customer retention, provides a new revenue stream for online retailers and delivers fast duty and tax rebates for international goods returned," said David Gustavson, CEO. "Businesses can also refer customers to us and receive commissions."
Cyber Monday falls on December 2nd this year and promises to be the busiest shopping day for many retailers. FedEx estimates it will ship more than 22 million packages that day as online holiday shopping increases three times faster than in-store shopping. Canadians are big fans of online deals from US and international retailers but the majority are losing money every time they return goods.
"Most businesses can't help their international customers reclaim millions of dollars in duty and tax paid on goods returned," said Richard Vining, Duty-Back's Chief Operating Officer. "We provide the missing link for online retailers, consumer groups, online shopping communities and mail forwarders."
Duty-Back manages the duty and tax preparation and filing, so customers can easily claim rebates from a computer or mobile phone anytime, anywhere. Duty-Back collects information directly from business partners via a secure API platform. Payments are processed and paid directly by various methods including e-money transfers.
Duty-Back is currently available to customers who return goods for which they have paid Canadian duty and sales tax. The company plans to offer the service to American, Australian and European customers by 2015.
