MONTREAL, Nov. 28, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - To mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, December 3, Handicap International is launching a cry of alarm for all people with disabilities that the organization accompanies everyday in developing countries. While we are well aware of the issues that are imposed on people with disabilities in our safe and stable country, people often forget the tragedies experienced by those trapped in catastrophic situations as seen in Syria, the Philippines, South Sudan, Sierra Leone and closer to home, in Haiti. People with disabilities represent 15% of the world population and of those, 80% live in developing countries. For 30 years, Handicap International has taken action to ensure that their dignity is respected. www.handicap-international.ca
