On May 21 and 22 in Montreal, businesspeople and organization leaders are invited to attend the first large-scale event on issues of trust in organizations. Hosted by the Institute for Trust in Organizations and moderated by Jean-François Lépine, the Summit will feature world-renowned speakers.
MONTREAL, May 3, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Institute for Trust in Organizations (ICO), a non-profit established by a group of seasoned professionals, will host the first International Summit on Trust in Organizations in Montreal on May 21 and 22. A catalyst for reflection and exchanges, the event will serve to educate leaders about the concept of trust at a time when many sectors in Quebec are experiencing a lack of trust (according to data from Léger Marketing).
Becoming a trust-building leader
"We are honored to have Mr. Jean-François Lépine as the moderator for the first edition of the International Summit on Trust in Organizations and to be able to offer leaders and professionals from all industries a high-caliber event," says Donald Riendeau Esq., CEO of ICO and a lawyer and specialist in ethics, governance and trust.
According to an ICO study from 2013, 83% of Quebecois feel that Quebec's climate of trust has deteriorated over the past ten years. But 97% believe that it is important or very important that company leaders work to improve trust among their employees, and 95% feel they should build relationships of trust with their customers, suppliers and other partners. The Summit is the perfect place for business leaders to learn to build those relationships of trust.
"What is a trusted leader? How do you handle a loss of trust? Can trust be rebuilt? These are some of the topics that will be addressed during the event," says Mr. Riendeau. "According to ICO, trust is the most powerful lever an organization can use to obtain expected results. The purpose of the Summit is to give attendees the tools they need to be able to integrate trust into their organization's current business and activities in a practical manner."
High-profile speakers
Around fifteen high-profile speakers—some from Quebec, others from the international scene—will speak on strategies, best practices and organizations that have distinguished themselves in matters of trust. Speakers include Minister Robert Poëti, Vanessa Hall, Hervé Sérieyx, Andreas Pohlmann, Rob Peters, Dennis and Michelle Reina, René Rouleau, Michel Nadeau, Denis Gallant Esq., Diane Lemieux, Suzanne Blanchet, Christian Latreille, François Casgrain Esq., Diane Gareau Esq., Caroline Néron, Ève Laurier and Luc Durand.
